Production process

Cutting

Well begun is half done. A phrase that applies in our field, since the choice, the separation according to genre and quality and cutting of the right logs is the first and probably the most defining step.

Our experience and know-how allow us to choose starting material of top quality from forests of our country and of Central Europe, according to requirements.

Wood square edge

Right after cutting, we proceed with removing the remaining bark, so that we have a squared and uniform wood panel.

This is a procedure that is not only related to aesthetics but also to handling and processing the wood further, regardless of its future use.

Drying/Steaming

Two totally different techniques, serving different purposes. During drying, exposing the wood to high temperatures reassures that there will be no deformation, that it’s sterilized and that its weight is reduced. During steaming, the wood passes through special enclosed rooms under specific conditions of temperature, pressure and time, which helps it have a uniform colour.

In both facilities, the use of state-of-the-art technology by Mühlböck guarantees high quality.

Triage/Selection

One step before the wood is headed for delivery, there’s a really important procedure: the wood’s selection according to kind and quality and an extra check. This is a demanding work, which is successfully managed by our experienced and specialized staff, people whose know-how and devotion truly make a difference.

Packaging

At this point, the long journey of the log, travelling from the forest until the stage of the production process reaches its final stop before use. The wood, categorized and packaged, is stored in conditions that ensure its top quality until their delivery.
